Hello,

My name is Rachael Baker and I teach a Y5/6 class at Clevedon School. This is my fourth year of teaching and my second year in a 'digital' classroom. Our school has been working with Jacqui over the past 2-3 years. We have moved from having only 2 computers in each class and a school computer lab to now having 3 digital classes and a lot more equipment being used effectively within the school.

Last year Jacqui did a 'Walk the talk' session at our school and taught in one of the digital classes for 2 weeks. During this time we had up to 100 visitors through from various schools.

We have been lucky to get new furniture in most rooms and we now have modern learning environments with different spaces. Some pictures of my class are below. I have tried to create a range of spaces which has been helped by having lots of different types of tables including high tables with swivel chairs, normal height tables with crescent stools, individual 'desks' and low kneeler tables. I have also brought in two couches and created a space at the back of the room for students to have a more relaxed seating area - this works well for iPad and laptop work but not so well for book work! We still have 2 PCs, and an iMac on a computer table which I have moved away from the wall. You'll see a group space in the corner of the room with a plasma screen and Apple TV which I used for working with groups or the students can use for getting together and sharing work via the plasma screen. At the 'front' of the room we still have a whiteboard and this year we have a new Mimio so I hoping that the students start to take ownership of this space rather than it being a teaching space for me.

I have been building my class wiki (http://missbakerslearners.wikispaces.com/Home.) and have started a new blog for 2014.
